The Journey Home saw that there was a lack of emergency housing in Aberdeen for families and individuals facing an emergent housing crisis. In May of 2018, we opened the emergency overnight shelter in our facility. This shelter serves all individuals and families in need of a warm bed for one or two nights. It is open 9 PM to 7 AM. We offer a shower, hygiene products, food, and a warm bed. This also helps our staff to develop relationships with families and individuals that we normally would not have contact with.
If you are in need of emergency shelter, please call (605) 277-8511. Our staff will be in contact with you as quickly as possible during our hours of operation. If you are unable to call, please visit the local Sheriff's Office and they will assist you.
